PVC is an atactic and therefore basically amorphous polymer. It is amorphous, transparent and relatively permeable to water vapour.
PVC is an atactic and therefore basically amorphous polymer. It is amorphous, transparent and relatively permeable to water vapour.
This plastic packing material offers excellent rigidity up to temperatures around its glass transition temperature.
PVC has excellent resistance to abrasion. PVC is fragile on impact at low temperatures.
Non laminated PVC has good resistance (up to 60°C) to acids and bases as well as oils, alcohols and aliphatic hydrocarbons. However, this plastic packing material is sensitive to aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
PVC has good insulating properties. It breaks down in a flame, releasing hydrochloric acid gas, but is self extinguishing.

AMORPHOUS PET
FEATURES:
PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) is made from ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid. There are two main types of PET: Amorphous PET (APET) and Crystalline PET (CPET), the main difference being that CPET is partly crystallized, while APET is amorphous. Due to its partially crystalline structure, CPET is opaque, while APET´s amorphous structure provides glass quality clarity.

Due to its partially crystalline structure, CPET is opaque, while APET´s amorphous structure provides glass quality clarity.
APET, amorphous Polyethylene Terephthalate, is suitable for use between -40°C and +70°C. APET is an extremely tough material with good impact strength. APET is an extremely effective barrier against oxygen, water, carbon dioxide and nitrogen.
APPLICATION FIELDS OF THIS PLASTIC PACKING MATERIAL:
Due to its glass clarity structure, APET is ideal as plastic packing for food that has to ”look good” when packed, and for food products which require a good barrier. For example, APET is suitable as packaging for fresh salads and as a material for making lids which may be used in combination with other materials.
Kashun’s APET can contact the food directly, for example, APET trays for chocolates, etc.
APET& THE ENVIRONMENT
PET materials are 100 % recyclable
All APET blister packing trays contain up to 50% post consumer recycled plastic in the middle layer. All raw materials used, including recycled ones, are certified suitable for food contact packaging.
WASTE DISPOSAL
RESURE
After use as food packaging, APET trays can be ground and reused for secondary, non-food purposes.

Incineration
When incinerated, APET produces more energy than it consumes, and can re-enter the natural cycle. Complete incineration of APET produces CO2, H2O, CO and small quantities of ash.
DISPOSAL
APET is suitable for landfill sites without any known risk to the environment.

STORAGE
Plastic packing made from APET should be stored in dry conditions under 30°C.
PETG
PETG is known as glycolised polyester. The "G" represents glycol modifiers, which are incorporated mainly to minimize brittleness of polyethylene terephthalate (PET or APET).
PETG is known as glycolised polyester. The "G" represents glycol modifiers, which are incorporated mainly to minimize brittleness of polyethylene terephthalate (PET or APET).
PETG, this plastic packing materials are claimed to more environmentally friendly than PVC. PETG offers comparable physical performance properties to PVC and meet a broad cross-section of PVC-based applications.
PETG is an amorphous plastic packing material, meaning the polymer molecules are not aligned or ordered within the material. It is produced in a roll calendaring process similar to that used to make standard PVC. As a result, PETG has many features similar to PVC with similar temperature resistance and durability. PETG has found a market where customers are looking to produce "environmentally" friendly product. PETG products are copolymers of PET. The product is often formed into PETG film or sheets for thermoforming applications. It can also be stretch blow molded to produce clear plastic bottles with good aroma and gas protection.
FEATURES:
Polyester PETG is a clear transparent sheet made from thermoplastic co polyester. It is one of the most respected and trusted plastic sheets around. It offers extreme clarity and light transmission in combination with high gloss.
Polyester PETG sheets have very good impact resistance, even at low temperatures, and are approved for food contact applications. Polyester PETG sheet has outstanding thermoforming properties, combining low energy consumption, short production cycles, extreme draw ratios and good mould reproduction.
Typical properties of polyethylene Terephthalate glycol (PETG) are:
1. Easy processing and resistance to impact and chemical agents, as well as their transparency and ductility
2. Can be easily fabricated, bent when cold (up to 2 mm in thickness) and even cut using a laser beam. They come in different thicknesses and can be manufactured in different colors (like the present opal) and are available with anti-UV treatment or patterns.
3. PETG and PET are 100 % recyclable.
4. PETG is often used in applications where thermoform ability is required.
5. Superior Chemical & High Impact Resistance
6. PETG Copolyester sheet can be cut with a laser or with a conventional table, band, or radial arm saws with blades commonly used for plastics without leaving sharp edges and with minimal wear on equipment.
7. With exceptional Clarity, surface scratches and scuff marks can be removed using a common heat gun.
8. PETG Copolyester sheet can be cut routed, welded, drilled, and die-punched, bent cold or hot, and joined by screws, rivets, or bolts.
9. Can be edge-polished using sanding, solvents, flame polishing, or commercial edge finishing equipment.
10. It also provides excellent material distribution and part definition during thermoforming without pre-drying sheets. The sheet forms clear, strong bonds with commercially available cements and solvents, and accepts screen printing, painting, and hot stamping - even registration printing.
11. Affordable
PETG Copolyester sheet causes less breakage overall - in shop, in transportation, in installation, and in use. Once in use, finished products enjoy a long life reducing replacement costs. And no special fabrication equipment is required. Not only does the sheet possess noise reducing properties, but its UV stability comes with a 10 year warranty. It has been given all food approvals (FDA, BGA).
Not only does it save time and energy, reducing costs, but allows you to work it hot or cold - it works how and when you need it to work.
PETG sheet is tough, clear, versatile, easy to work with, chemical resistant, and affordable - making it well suited for a variety of demanding sheet and glazing applications ranging from store displays to signage.
